Dig into Art as part of the Independence Public Library Summer Reading Program. Children in grades 1-3 are invited to take part in Upcycling beginning at 9:30 am. The class for those in grades 4-6 begins at 11:00 am. Instructor Jill Ridenour will show participants how to magically transform everyday items into extraordinary gifts and decorations. On June 20th, a Tractor Ride will be coming through Independence. They will be making a stop at Heartland Acres for a short while. The proceeds from this ride will go to the Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. The Ride is open to the public, anyone wanting to join in is welcome to do so.
